World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as crit chance and PvE Damage.
If the template for upgrading a weapon is %, it will increase 3percent of its previous attack damage each time it is upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the item's current level. The cost increases with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons and trinkets to give a stat bonus or extra effect when they're used. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment with a slot for them; the item must have been at the very least upgraded to blue level for a component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or Ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it is applied to (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with less Upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level using standard methods.
A boost upgrade is a way to modify the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.
The player can have up to five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will appear during the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of the extent to which it will improve after a future reset.
The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a significant chance that the item could be obsolete or even break if it fails. A failure to upgrade can ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that can double or even eliminate possibility of failure, and some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, and include any existing affixes. Glyphs are upgraded in a variety of ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels whenever you can.
It is commonplace to see in the final game that placing Glyphs is a great method to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes faster.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.
Each Glyph has a particular range of values it can improve a stat by. The value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with a different Glyph of the same rank or a higher rank, which will increase the value of the Glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools and also through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs, and there are some rare glyphs to be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be put on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts a particular set of stat nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Utilizing Glyphs Glyph can boost all nodes that are connected to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the stats of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with an amount that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded until they reach a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned you'll be able to claim your upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.
When the player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a different item of the same kind. This means that the same armor piece will get a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own bonus. This could be a disadvantage since the item may become more expensive even if you do not require it.
Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens to do this. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that is based on a level 1 base and totally different bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, however it's not something that should be repeated often, as it could waste lots of resources.
Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives an increase in power if the player continuously enters or exits the water. This item can be upgraded several times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is extremely valuable in PvP. A well-rolled version can be worth 50 times the value of the non-upgraded version.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of the item, and upgrading weapon equipment will increase the damage base as well as the required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. item upgrading when you upgrade an item it has the chance to fail. The rate of failure increases as you exceed the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original condition which means that the player has to pay for more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item is not able to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it gained, such as chances to be crit, attack damage, or other effects (such as increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player is able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that should a weapon gain an increase in its crit chance the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for example, a common equipment item may have five upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will have a much lower cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items could have different upgrade requirements from normal equipment. For instance they might require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Players will still have to carry every piece of equipment they wish to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade to equipment will require different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the costs mentioned above.
